The Bicoastal Collective : Formed in 2007 the Bicoastal Collective is a contemporary jazz partnership that explores the variety of facets that comprise the modern post-bop jazz sound. Forged by Canadian trumpeter/flugelhorn player Paul Tynan and American baritone saxophonist Aaron Lington (www.aaronlington.com), the Bicoastal Collective explores new sounds in jazz and improvised music by focusing on original compositions and melody-driven improvisations. The Bicoastal Collective’s numerous albums are published by OA2 records (www.originarts.com) and each has been met with critical acclaim.

Paul Tynan Quartet:  The quartet plays original compositions, and newer jazz works. Sometimes intimate, sometimes aggressive, always striving for the highest ascetic possible. The instrumenatation of the quartet changes depending on the music being played; sometimes featuring a two horn front line and at other times with a comping instrument.

Paul Tynan/Jake Hanlon duo: This small ensemble is made up of Jake Hanlon on guitar and Paul Tynan on flugelhorn and trumpet. The Duo is a vessel of creative musical chemistry; full of interplay and blossoming textures.  The music performed live includes original compositions and new takes on compositions from the “North American song book”.

Joe Abba & The Gen X Quartet: Lead by drummer Joe Abba and featuring Nick Mancini on Vibes, Trifon Dimitrov on bass and Paul Tynan on trumpet. Performing original music and standards. The ensemble focuses on educational out reach to Universities and Middle/High School presenting clinic/masterclass tours that includes performances, school assemblies, and small group training of students and public school educators alike; the main theme focuses on ways to discover, learn about, and teach Jazz Music.
